Refunds & Cancellation

Written to be read before you buy. It sets out when you can cancel an engagement, how much comes back at each stage, and how the money reaches you.

Last updated 20 September 2026

In plain terms

  • Cancel before work begins and you get everything back, with no fee and no questions.
  • Cancel after kickoff and you pay for the part that was done. The rest comes back, on the stage table below.
  • If we fail to deliver what the engagement page promised, or miss a date without telling you first, the refund is 100%.
  • Refunds return to the UPI account or card you paid from, with the GST included.

This is a summary, not the policy. The numbered sections below decide any actual claim.

1. What this policy commits to

An engagement is a fixed scope at a published fee, so a refund is arithmetic rather than negotiation. Two principles run through everything below.

  • You pay for work done, not time booked. Nothing has been earned before work begins, so cancelling then returns the full amount. Once work has started, you pay for what exists and we return the rest.
  • Failure to deliver is our cost, not yours. If the deliverables do not match the engagement page, or a stated date passes without our having warned you, you get the whole fee back.

A refund is not a remedy for a business outcome. We stand behind the deliverables, the standard of work and the date on the page; we do not guarantee revenue, adoption, funding or performance figures.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of India.

2. Cancelling before kickoff

Full refund, no deduction, no explanation needed. Kickoff is when work begins, which happens only after we hold your payment, your completed technical brief and the access the engagement page asks for.

  • Write from the email address on the order, quoting the order number, or reply to your order confirmation.
  • A cancellation takes effect once we confirm it in writing. If you have not received that confirmation, treat the order as live and follow up with us.
  • An order that was never paid simply lapses and needs nothing from you.
  • Realising you need a different engagement is a perfectly good reason. We would rather switch it than deliver the wrong thing.

We will also cancel and refund in full ourselves where the engagement would not help you, where we cannot deliver it within the stated timeline, or where a listing error comes to light before work begins.

3. After kickoff: pro-rata refunds

Once work has started, the refund depends on how far it had progressed when you asked to stop. Percentages apply to the amount actually paid for that engagement, GST included.

Where the engagement had reachedRefund
Paid, technical brief not yet submitted100%
Brief received, work not yet started100%
Kickoff done, nothing committed or shared yet75%
Work in progress, first material shared or first commits pushed50%
Past the halfway point, most deliverables built25%
Handover completeNo refund; any revision round, support window and the defect remedy still apply
We missed a stated date without telling you first100%
Deliverables did not match the engagement page and could not be corrected100%

Whatever has been built when you stop is handed over to you regardless, in its current state and documented as far as it goes. We never hold partial work back during a refund discussion.

If a monthly managed-support engagement is cancelled mid-month, the refund covers the days not yet served, rounded in your favour.

4. Advisory sessions and written reviews

Short advisory engagements, such as an architecture call or a written code or cost review, are non-refundable once delivered, because their value is the expert time and the written answer.

  • Cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before a booked call and you get a full refund or a new slot, as you prefer.
  • Cancelling within 24 hours, or not attending, counts as delivery.
  • If we miss or move the slot, you get a new one at your convenience or a full refund.
  • A written review is delivered when the document reaches you. Until then it is fully refundable.

Two things still apply here: if our answer was clearly wrong, tell us and we will correct it at no charge; and if we decide the session cannot usefully answer your question, we will say so and refund it before it runs.

5. What counts as non-delivery

Any one of the following triggers a full refund of the engagement fee.

  • A deliverable named on the engagement page was never handed over, and no written variation had been agreed.
  • A stated delivery date passed with nothing handed over, and we had not warned you before the date.
  • What was handed over does not materially do what the engagement page said, and our attempts to correct it failed.
  • The work cannot be used because we did not provide the documentation or access needed to run it.
  • We stopped work partway and cannot resume within a reasonable time.
  • You were charged for an engagement we declined, or for an order that was never confirmed.

Non-delivery does not include a delay caused on your side, an outage or policy change at a third-party provider, or a deliverable that is present and working but differs from what you had in mind. The first two pause the clock; the third is a scope discussion, covered in section 7.

6. Fixes come first

Where a deliverable is present but wrong, correcting it is usually the fastest remedy: a fix can arrive in days, while a refund and a new purchase take longer and leave you with nothing built.

  • If the engagement page includes a revision round or a support window, use it first, and send your points as one consolidated list.
  • A correction brings the work in line with the agreed scope. Changing the brief is a change request, quoted separately.
  • If corrections genuinely cannot bring the work in line with the engagement page, we refund in full under section 5.

Separately, material defects in our work are corrected at no charge under the defect remedy in the terms.

7. When a refund does not apply

  • The deliverables were handed over as described, but the commercial or technical outcome was not what you hoped for.
  • Adoption, revenue, speed, uptime or ranking did not move as far as you wanted.
  • A third-party platform changed, deprecated, throttled or suspended something after handover.
  • The delay came from access, environments, approvals, test data or feedback we were waiting on from you.
  • You changed direction, re-platformed or shelved the project after work had begun.
  • Your team or another supplier modified the work after handover and it then stopped behaving as delivered.
  • The claim arrives more than 15 days after handover, unless it concerns a payment error.
  • Third-party costs already incurred with your agreement, such as cloud usage, licences, subscriptions or paid quotas. These were never part of our fee.
  • Work was stopped because the acceptable use clause in the terms was breached.

8. Timelines and how the money comes back

StepWhen
We acknowledge your claimWithin 48 hours, as the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require
We decide and reply in writingWithin one month of receiving it, and sooner wherever we can
We initiate an approved refundOnce the decision is confirmed, with the refund reference sent to you
Your bank or UPI provider credits youDepends on the bank and payment provider after initiation
  • Refunds go back to the original payment method only, the same UPI account or card, in Indian Rupees. We cannot redirect a refund to another account.
  • The refund includes the GST you paid, and a credit note is issued against the original invoice so your accounts reconcile.
  • We send you the refund reference as soon as the refund is initiated.
  • If the money has not arrived within a reasonable time, send us the reference and we will follow it up with the payment gateway until it lands.
  • No processing fee is deducted from a refund.

9. How to raise a claim

  1. Write from the email address on the order, to care@noteepoiint.com.
  2. Quote your order number (it begins with NP) and say in a line what went wrong.
  3. Attach anything that supports it: the deliverable, a screenshot, the pull request, the email thread or the missed date.
  4. Tell us what you would like: a fix, a switch to a different engagement, or your money back.

You can also use the contact form or, with an account, raise it from the order in your dashboard, which already carries the order number and payment reference.

One named person owns your claim from acknowledgement onwards, so you will not have to explain it twice.

10. Failed and duplicate payments

  • A failed payment confirms no order and should leave nothing debited. If your bank has placed a temporary hold, it is released by the bank.
  • Debited, but the order still shows unpaid? Send us the order number and UPI reference. We reconcile with the gateway and either confirm the order or refund in full, as you prefer.
  • Charged twice for the same order? The duplicate is refunded in full as soon as it is identified, with no assessment. If we spot it first, we refund it and tell you.
  • Paid for the wrong engagement and told us before kickoff? We switch it or refund it, your choice.

Please raise a payment problem with us before filing a chargeback. A chargeback freezes the order and usually takes longer to resolve.

11. Orders with more than one engagement

Each engagement in an order is assessed on its own stage. Cancelling one does not affect the others, and the refund is calculated only on the engagement being cancelled.

  • Where a discount applied across the whole order, it is apportioned before the refund is calculated, so the remaining engagements keep their share of it.
  • Where you bought several units of the same engagement, a unit not yet started is refunded in full even if another is in progress.
  • Credit notes are issued per engagement, matching the tax invoice.

12. If you disagree with our decision

Please escalate it. We would much rather re-examine a decision than leave you dissatisfied.

Write to our Grievance Officer, Rahul and Sabhajit, at care@noteepoiint.com. Your complaint is handled within the timelines set by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, which the grievance page sets out.

If our final answer still does not resolve it, the grievance page lists the external bodies you can approach, including the National Consumer Helpline and the consumer commission for your area.
