Overview

What this engagement is

Most buyers have no reliable way to tell whether four lakhs for a website is fair or excessive, and the vendor quoting it is hardly neutral. Forward the quote and the scope document, and a senior engineer will read it as carefully as a competing proposal: what is actually promised, what is noticeably absent, whether the figure matches the effort, and which clauses would give us pause. You receive a written verdict along with the questions to put back to the vendor. We never bid for work we have been asked to review.

Deliverables

What you receive

4 items
  • A written verdict on whether the price is low, fair or high for the scope described
  • A list of omissions that typically turn into extra invoices later
  • Three to five specific questions to send back to the vendor
  • A note on any commercial terms worth challenging, such as ownership or hosting lock-in

Outcomes

What changes once it ships

An impartial view from engineers who scope and price this kind of work

Precise questions that expose a vague scope before you sign

The confidence to approve a fair quote instead of stalling on it

Process

How the 4 stages run

  1. Forward

You send the quote, the scope document and any relevant email thread

  2. Read

A senior engineer reviews it against what the work realistically involves

  3. Judge

We write up the verdict, the gaps and the questions to ask

  4. Discuss

One round of follow-up questions answered in writing

A strong fit for

  • Founders commissioning a first build with no impartial adviser
  • Marketing or operations leads signing off technical spend
  • Anyone choosing between two proposals that are hard to compare

What we need from you

  • The quote and any scope or proposal document that came with it
  • One line on your budget expectation and your deadline

You share these through the brief that opens in your client dashboard once payment is confirmed. The timeline starts when they arrive.

Questions about this engagement

No. We do not bid on anything we review under this service. If you later want a quote from us, ask separately.
Then we say so and explain why, which is well worth knowing. Most reviews land somewhere in between.
Yes, send both. A side-by-side comparison is often more useful than judging either alone.

This is a digital service — nothing is shipped. Work is delivered to the timeline above, into systems you control, and our refund terms explain what happens if a date is missed.
